The work on the brown bedroom, the third room along the long hallway, has gotten to be commonplace by now. We replaced three walls of the four with sheetrock, replaced all the electrical plugs and the switch to the overhead light fixture, added a second switch for the fan motor, As with most rooms, we have installed Ethernet cable, land phone cable, and satellite cable. We removed the generic ceiling tiles and replaced with “tin-type” ceiling tiles, which we have used in the other two bedrooms in the bedroom section of the lower floor. We replaced the hollow core wooden closet doors with mirrored glass doors and we installed new vertical blinds for the patio doors, which open to the pool area and gazebo. |
We tiled this bedroom with Super Saltillo tiles and after multiple coats of sealer, at least seven or eight coats, brushed on a high gloss top coat. We used colonial baseboard for this room, as we have for the previous two bedrooms and master bathroom and will follow throughout the original lower section of our home. |
We painted the rear bedroom wall, which opens to the pool area and gazebo, with Disney brand paint named “Brand New Morning”, a subtle off white and have done the same in the previous two bedrooms with a second color for the other three walls. The ceiling tiles are finished with small bed molding. Below the shelves, we have installed land phone line, Ethernet line, and satellite cable line. |
The mirrored closet doors replaced hollow core wooden sliding doors and are a nice addition, and allow our children to view themselves, as they get dress themselves. |
