our house

Our four-legged family decided it would be great fun to jump on the lower screened panels and bark at the neighbor's dogs behind our home and in doing this rip and tear the lower screens. After replacing one panel, ripping and cutting new molding pieces on our table saw, I gave the dogs a stern lecture, which they ignored. We then decided to place cement board panels on the lower section and while doing this rescreened the top sections.

The molding on the lower panels required using a dado saw blade and some careful cutting on the one-half inch thick pieces we ripped from 2 by 4 by 10s.

Our home is located on a gentle slope down to the lake and somewhat above the houses behind us. At first, we did not like the look of the panels on the lower section of our gazebo but are now enjoying the privacy it allows us.
