At the terminus of the Ffestiniog Railroad is the LLechweld Slate Mines and Aimee ,my bride, and I visited these slate mines back on our honeymoon in August of 1988 and nearly twenty years later we again visited this mine with our two daughters, Madeline and Anne. |
We loaded into little tramcars to descend into the slate mines where a retired mineworker explained the how and whys of slate mining. |
