We left Helsinki in the early morning for the short two hour ferry ride across the Baltic Sea and departed Tallinn in the early evening, which allowed us ample town to explore the medieval twin cities of Tallinn.

One of the towers along the city wall was open for viewing on the day we visited Tallinn and we climbed medieval stair to the top level to take the photographs shown below.

There were several breaks in the city walls to accommodate easy access into the old city area area.
