Basilicas and churches are everywhere in Rome and we planned to visit some locations used in the book and movie "Angels and Demons", which led to some beautiful churches and art masterpieces.

The Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels is a basilica dedicated to Christian martyrs; the Tomb of Pope Pius IV is located at this location is also the site of the Roman Baths of Diocletian.

The small basilica Santa Maria della Vittoria is a lovely church and that displays a masterpiece in a chapel by Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1598-1680) "the Ecstasy of Saint Teresa" whose heart was pierced by an angel's arrow, which caused both great pain and joy and the Santa Maria della Vittoria basilica has a beautiful painting on the ceiling.
