The bridge or Pont Sant'Angelo spans the Tibor River from Rome to Emperor Hadrian's Mausoleum, more commonly known as Castel Sant'Angelo and was constructed in 134 AD to connect the city to the mausoleum.

The angels portraying the Passion of Christ were created by Gain Lorenzo Bernini (born 1598 in Naples, Italy and died 1680 in Rome, Italy ) and decorate Pont Sant'Angelo.
