Aimee and I visited Southern Italy and Sicily in June and July of 2013 and while on holiday visited the ancestral home of the Mazzuca family in the province of Cosenza in Calabria, which is the southermost region in Italy. |

The Pantheon is a building in Rome, Italy, constructed and commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus as a temple to all the gods of ancient Rome and rebuilt by the emperor Hadrian about 126 AD. |
The rotunda of the Pantheon has a weight of 4,535 metric tons or 4,999 short tons with an oculus or opening of 9.1 meters or 30 feet in diameter. The thickness of the dome varies from a width of 6.4 meters or 21 feet at the base to 1.2 meters or 3.9 feet at the oculus and is after nineteen hundred years the largest unsupported concrete dome in the world. |
