After our short visit to Pompeii we traveled south through the Amalfi coast as we continued our Italian portion of our holiday.

Below Naples on the southern coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula is the Amalfi Coast, which in the 10th-11th centuries was an independent state and today is an international tourist destination.

Above is the historic town of Amalfi.
