Portmeirion, Wales

Photographs from Our Visit to Portmeirion

The Citadel is the cliff area, which has cottages , hotel rooms and the Bell Tower, whose base was constructed from stones of a razed castle of Gruffydd ap Cynan King of North Wales, the motte of which is in the Wilds above Portmeirion.

Campanile (Y Twr Clychau)

Cottages and hotel rooms line the cliff area and the views of the estuary and mountains from the rear of these buildings are beautiful.

Below right is another of those photographs from the woods we had taken while roaming the wilds above Portmeirion Village. The large yellow and pink building is a the Government House, a five-bedroom cottage we occupied in the summer of 1998 on our first of two family vacations to England and Wales.
